Rash,
Sorry to hear about Doc. Our dog Champ and I send our best wishes.
Champ has been with us for about four years or so now; picked him up at the humane society (not necessarily with the Mrs`s blessings) when he was about 4 months old as a Christmas surpise for the kids. Not exactly sure what he is, American Foxhound, Pointer, Harrier, mix etc... but he is 60 pounds of pure speed and sporting dog. The deep backyard adjoins a 30 acre field and even though we are `in town` there is plenty of deer, squirrel, and rabbit to chase. When I arrive home in the evening and grab a cold one out of fridge he is jumping up and down and darn near crying at the ``signal`` that we are headed out back for a run. What a ritual it has become.
Dogs are sure great and loyal pals. And a kid`s relationship with a dog is thing of beauty to watch. Time to start thinking about maybe getting a new dog, Rash; somebody wants to be your pal.
Champ and I are going to head back out now for an `extra run` tonight --- in honor of Doc. Hope there is a rabbit out there.
Best
