My sincere and heartfelt sympathies on the loss of your friend Doc. I hope you take comfort in the fact that he was doing what he loved to do when he died. We have a dog at the other end of the size scale. Big Jake McCandles is a 3 1/2 pound fightin` Maltese that considers himself the alpha dog regardless the size of the pretender to his throne. We live in a wooded, country acreage complete with all four varieties of venomous reptiles. It is only a matter of time I fear until he pokes his nose into a brush pile and meets his end from the bite of a copperhead or rattler. I cannot image life without my friend and companion and so I truly understand the depth of your loss. Later this afternoon I intend to pop a cold one and will offer a quiet toast to all the ``Docs`` of the world who make life in this quagmire just a little more endurable.
