Might the percentage of annual sales, taken as ongoing royalties(rather than a one-off fee), have something to do with Qualcomm`s share price and valuation?
The debate as to which is better, large single fee or the same fee spread over 10 years doesn`t quite work for the Qualcomm model - they receive both.
Given the ease with which they appear to collect the royalties due, it does raise questions as to just how difficult, or not, this process is.
