A friend of mine that is in upper management gave me the same line more or less. I asked him if he got a nice raise this last year and he admitted to getting one but it was rather small. I asked why and he informed me that business for their firm had been a bit slower than last year. So the owner was being tight. I asked him about the staff, did they get raises and he said, `` no way!``. I then asked them how many of the staff were home owners and he said probably not to many especially in LA where the average price is over 500K. ``So how is all this great economy benefitting you?`` I asked. `` How is it benefitting your staff? Inflation is up and wages at least here are low to none.`` He told me he that it was benefitting him indirectly. LOL. ( By the way he is studying to get his Masters in Business Administration at a well thought of business college here in So. Ca. and that`s what they tell him there! ) I told him to look around at the people in his world and see how it really is. I also suggested that I could be all wrong and that he should inquire with his customers to get a complete picture. Maybe they are the ones benefitting. We are still in discussion about that one. I also suggested that he look into PTSC and perhaps make an investment. His later reply was that it was too risky. I thought, ``he can`t be a real capitalist if he doesn`t want to deal with risk!`` I guess he`s just conservative! Maybe he should be studying about the risk/reward ratio.
