Not picking on you Larry, but I keep reading about how we won`t KNOW the Sony numbers for months. I KNOW PTSC`s SEC reporting of numbers has been inconsistent, probably based on the degree of ``material significance`` (or whatever the SEC words are), e.g., the Casio deal may not have have qualified as ``significant``. But IF the Sony number is BIG, I`d bet PTSC would have to report at NLT receipt of distribution. I also suspect a dividend is in the offing. The amount of the dividend (with recognition of intent for share buy-back) should also give us a good clue. And IMO the amount could be anything - wide possible range. On the one side, early licensee and prior relations with TPL. On the other side, it`s apparently been in the works for a long time (implying more money involved), Sony is a very big player in CE and so even an expensive license with the expectation that their competition will pay much more would probably be well worth every dime. On the other side (three dimensional thinking! LOL), there is significant strategic benefit to TPL just to get a settlement with Sony - but IMO the strategic benefit diminishes greatly if Sony was able to settle for small dollars. JMHOs.
As for our claims influencing PS3 release; I believe it was uncovered that it was another patent dispute the prompted the delay. However, it very well could have been that other dispute AND ours causing the delay (i.e., with two separate ongoing patent disputes impacting PS3, it would seem the threat of an injunction would be much greater).
But I KNOW nuttin`!
