I had not thought about the whole Marshall County president thingy for other than the J3. If true, my guess it would make any infringing party (mean ole copy cats) think hard about going all the way to trail.
I`ve been involved in a few patent cases, all were settled once the issues were clearly understood. I think TPL can make a clear and compelling case that benefits us all.
I`m a TPL fan at this point. They have our marbles and they get to make all the plays and all the deals. Being in Marshall has got to work in their favor, IMO.
As for a time line on a deal, I think the clock does not even start ticking until the trail has set some deadlines. Then the cell phones heat up, the quick plane tickets cost more, and someone (think mean ole copy cat) stops to figure out exactly what it will cost to litigate. Plus, add the time away from business senior management will need to spend on the case to that number, and a deal could get done, IMO.
