I seriously doubt it, unless preceeded by ``he/she/whoever said:``. In the legal world (and business world), absolute clarity is essential. As practicable, nothing is left to potential multiple interpretations or confusion, as the result could be disasterous. This is why command of the language (including appropriate terminology) is so important, and why most people enlist the aid of counsel in legal matters.
