I agree grammar is important - it signifies credibility and integrity. We all make errors that the eye doesn`t catch in a proof-read before posting, but the key is to care enough about what you`re trying to communicate to actually do a proof-read. If you don`t care, why should I?
It also signifies a level of intelligence. Would you entrust anything requiring some level of smarts to someone that consistently demonstrates that they`re an idiot?
Maybe I`m just too picky.... For the last couple of years I`ve become more and more disturbed by TV news reporters and pundents, and the supposed intelligent persons that they interview. It seems they don`t know what the meaning of ``is`` is (i.e., if you`re talking about multiples, the word is ``are``). One of the most humorous examples was in the recent discussions about cuts in availability of funds for student loans. They interviewed a grad student who said ``there IS not many alternatives``. Kind of killed the argument (at least in that guy`s case! LOL). What really got me was when the media was picking on ``W`` for his oral shortcomings (as opposed to Bill`s - LOL). They should listen to themselves!
And there`s the person that says they were just too rushed.... Well, I`m certainly not going to waste my time to try and figure out what you`re trying to say.
Enough from me before I start promulgating ``typos`` and grammatical errors, and because I KNOW nuttin`!
