Couldn`t agree more, and I really like the AMEX idea. It appears the AMEX is trying to mimic the NYSE. That`s a really good thing.
As of a couple years ago, a study found that only 2% of NYSE stocks were managed by marketmakers, i.e., vitually no manipulation by those guys. Conversely, it was found that 98% of the stocks on the NAS were managed by MMs.
Anyone thinking that the NAS is the MM-free promised land is very wrong. The manipulation would continue with only a little more contraint.
I didn`t KNOW the AMEX requirements were so easily achievable. I packed, let`s go!
