Is some small attempt to keep up with the various and sundry travails of MEO, I often look at the Pinnacle Board. There is a poster there called "Jamster123" who appears to have a low opinion of several posters on this site. While I must agree that sometimes our participants can go "over the line" in their posts, overall, I really enjoy the reparte that exists here.
Now Jamster (if that really is your name) is really riled up about people making accusations and he seems to think that some kind of legal action should be directed at these purveyors of supposed misformation (not to mention libel, slander and character assassination). Given his position, I found it very interesting that he posted the following article on Pinnacle (please go to the end of the "cut and paste" to see my comments) -
"
"A couple of things on Pennine.
I live in Twin Butte, which is where the Pincher Creek field is. I am a member of the group of landowners who have been attempting to engage Pennine in discussions that would allow them to develop their (your) properties in this field in a profittable manner for as long as they (you) have owned them.
Now, a couple of questions.
What if as a group, we have met with the principals of Pennine numerous times over the past recent years, to come to terms on how we can make that happen; all at considerable expense of effort, time and cost and to a huge degree of frustration? What if we are people who know and understand what it takes to plan, spot, drill and produce a well, from every aspect? What if we have been patient, flexible and creative; all to no avail? What if we have attended four mediated meetings and a hearing with these guys? What if we have proposed reasonable, rational and legitimate terms and conditions which would accommodate the processes of putting the 1 of 11 well onstream? What if on January 28, 2009, the landowner signed a Settlement Agreement which resulted in three things; the first, the granting of a license to install a pipeline to service 1 of 11, the second, a clear committment by Pennine to pay approximately $24,000.00 in costs, which with interest, is now $30,000.00, because of non-payment and lastly, our expectation that Pennine would come with the cheque, to the table to negotiate a Right of Way Agreement with the landowner for a Right of Entry to install the approved pipeline? What if those things have not happened; and as a consequence, a complaint has been registered with the Alberta Securities Commission regarding a statement in the Pennine AM and D, published on the SEDAR website, April 30, 2009, clearly stating that 'the Company has negotiated a Right of Way Agreement with the land owner to install a natural gas conservation pipeline', when referring to the Pennine Pincher Creek 100/01-11-004-029W4M well and which may or may not be true?
What if a year and a half ago, Pennine paid a land owner 'failure to exercise rights granted' penalties of $4,000.00 on a sour gas well lease in the area, that we understand has 'some potential and which terminated Pennine's right of access and occupancey to that well?
Also, what if on October 09, 2007, a fifty year old lease which Pennine held on another site in the Pincher Creek field expired and as a result of failure to reach agreement with Pennine to replace that lease, on May 26, 2009, at the Court of Queen's Bench, in Lethbridge, Alberta, the caveat attached to the expired lease and Pennine's Right of Entry, was revoked?
These things may or may not have happened, but if they did, what would any of you think should be done?"
Panamax again - Wow!.....This post would seem to be purest form of speculation I have ever seen. The author (who is not Jamster) even couchs the whole post in phrases like "What if " and (my favorite) "These things may or may not have happened."
Now, I happen to like much of what Jamster writes and sometime I agree with what he has to say but this post really goes too far. This is analagous to someone posting something like "What if Jamster is really the IR guy for MEO and what if the MEO is secretly funding by the Obama adminstration is an attempt to destroy the production of oil and NG in America and drive us to solar power? This may or may not be true but who really knows?" You see my point! This type of wriring allows the author the ability to say anything and still maintain some supposed air of impartiality.
If someone wants to makes accusations, then they should stand up, make their accusations and be "man enough" to take credit for their words. Everyone has the right to "face their accusors."Posts such as this, where the author hedges behind the "what if scenario" leave a very bad taste in my mouth.
Jamster, you should not associate your name (and reputation) with this type of misinformation.
