Chuck I'm new to Montello...and I'm in based on their potential home run property in Tennessee. I don't care about old news or other incarnations...just the present. The only relevent info from the past is about the management team...and this time at least, they seem to have put together a good and experienced team of oil people. So I'll give them credit for that.
If they hit it big in Tennessee, the share price will jump and $1.00 to $1.50 per share would be cheap. Having 140 mill shares is not unusual for a small venture play and hitting one or more big wells would drive the price well over your estimates.
Also, while I agree with you that mines don't happen over night....oil wells certainly do. Literally. One day you don't have a well...the next day you do. And if it's a big producer, you can and do have very large SP increases....overnight.
If you are simply trying to remind us that this is a very speculative play and that there are no guarantees, then you are absolutely correct. Never the less, that's life on the venture exchange. Big risk and big potential reward. Everyone has to decide their own comfort level from that point of view.
