#3550 - Friday morning thoughts

Good morning. Overseas markets a mixed bag with Europe solidly green as I type. Financials and oil stocks seem to be the early strength in Europe. There is nothing on the economic calendar in the US for today, only some big name stocks on the earnings front. Futures are pointing to a down open in the US. It will be interesting to see if its a profit taking Friday or a load up for expectations of better days to come for next week. My bet is an up day for North American markets. Even bad news is getting bought lately.

Back in McFaulds Lake it was another day of no news with very low volumes on the various stocks. Nothing of importance was reported from NOT's meeting at the National Club yesterday and the 3rd lowest volume in last 3 months confirmed it. The one thing I find interesting with NOT is all of a sudden Nemis the promoter is all hush, hush. Why is Nemis under a gag order? Perhaps something is up in NOT land that we are missing here. In the past Nemis has never passed up a chance to give NOT a promo. With all the lawyers and mining bigwigs at these meetings lately I would be suprised if something big from NOT isn't announced in the near future. Just a gut feeling here.

Well it's Friday and still nothing from FNC on the drill date announcement. Another deadline is coming and passing with no info from Smith. Supposedly sometime this week we were to get a definate time for the drilling of FNC's McFaulds property. If there is no news from NOT today and nothing from FNC's front office I expect to see some pressure on FNC's share price this afternoon. At some point investors will give up on this company and I think that time is near. I checked to see if any insider buying on FNC and nothing yet has been reported. There are rumours that NOT and FWR are in talks for a JV. I have no idea if they are true but it makes sense, as long ago Nemis had stated he thought FWR had some anomolies that looked very close to the geology of the Double Eagle discovery. Getting the various properties united in the ring of fire makes sense if the majors are poking around. I still think FWR stock is the bargain in McFaulds presently.

The rest of the McFaulds Lake stocks are doing the slow drift down in share price as the news vaccum is doing nothing to keep retail investors interested in the plays. Without news and soon, I fear further weakness as investors slowly bail to catch a ride on the next hot stock in play. McFaulds Lake investing is obviously not for the short term investor currently.
