Interesting commentary on the American system. Scary to think how close ours is, and how dependant we are on their market. Talking heads on all of these shows are the same - they know little more that we do, but get paid to yak about that which they do not know. If they did know, they would be retired, having made millions on the stock market. If you ask me, they should be forced to share their portfolio with the public.

I doubt that it would matter if the Fed was an elected body or accountable anyway. They have a worse voter turn out than we do, and their record doesn't show that they can pick the good ones or hold them to any standard anyway (i.e. NY governor)

On the plus side, the US dollar is low, so we should be able to buy half of their companies, hehe. Especially when SPQ releases drill results in a couple weeks :) Anyone have plans on minimizing taxes on the capital gains they would like to share?
