 Not sure how you could possibly say this? Tax authorities have nothing to do with cost per share in a persons self directed RRSP account. The only thing that matters is the tax rate you pay when you take money out of this type of account.

Perhaps the laugh you get when you hear about traders striving for free shares exists only in your own mind.
