I doubt that enough investors casually visit this site before buying or selling area plays. They visit, probably, after taking a position to find out more about the companies. Brokers don't have time or inclination to participate or review all the forums out there as they have to stay somewhat on top of so many stocks.

Keeping up with these forums can however give one a better feel for individual companies and the upside/downside potential. That 'edge' is why a lot of us participate.

 Pretend Geologists are about all we have, some of them darn good, because the real McCoy is out earning money. Yes some deposits go to depth but Noront has tested depth and their deposit doesn't indicate anything worthwhile down there. If they hit valuable mineralization they'd continue drilling until they came to an end. So far Noront hasn't proven up the size of deposit everyone is hoping for but then drilling continues so answer isn't in yet.
