Osbell Mineralized Zone
Maudore continued its drilling program on its Comtois project and is currently working on a new Mineral Resource estimate in compliance with National Instrument 43-101 respecting standards of disclosure for mineral projects.
Due to encouraging results to date, Maudore accelerated drilling at Comtois to a planned 70,000 meters in 2010. Five drill rigs worked at Comtois, with the fifth on site as of mid-January. During the winter months, drills operated 24/7, seven days a week, rather than the prior five day week. For the purposes of the Mineral Resource Estimate a cut off date for the drilling campaign was established as the 15 th of February.
OTHER EXPLORATION MINING PROPERTIES
The Company also owns a 100% interest in the following blt that goes from Comtois to the Sleeping-Giant mine area: Comtois Southwest, Bell, Sadie, Bernetz, Fonteneau-Themines, Sleeping-Giant Southeast, Mazarin-Glandelet, Pakodjii and North Shore.
During the first quarter of 2010, exploration drilling was conducted on Sadie, Bernetz, and Sleeping-Giant Southeast properties for a total of 1,576 m in 11 drill holes . Drilling targeted areas defined during previous compilation and exploration phases.
Exploration highlights include the confirmation of favourable lithologies such as altered felsic volcanics hosting sulphide mineralization, auriferous shear zones with mineralized quartz veins as well as banded iron formations. Large alteration bleaching areas were also identified suggesting important hydrothermal activity. Most of the assay results from this drilling are still pending.
