SPOKANE, WASHINGTON -- OCTOBER 11, 2011, MARIFIL MINES LTD. (MFM: TSX-V) ("Marifil" or "the Company") announces that it has applied for two additional lithium cateos (mining claims) in Catamarca Province, Argentina.
The new cateos cover an area of 11,848 hectares. The Catamarca lithium project now includes nine cateos totaling 23,661 hectares.
Anomalous amounts of lithium, boron, and potash were found on the Companies' Antofalla II and Cachari Pampa claims.
Mr. John Hite reports that "while some of these samples contain highly anomalous amounts of lithium, boron, and potassium and are highly encouraging, much more work is necessary to determine whether commercial amounts of lithium are present. A private company recently returned the seven original cateos to us and we have already received serious expressions of interest from several parties. We are now studying the project to determine whether the Company should drill the property or farm it out."
This press release has been reviewed and approved by John Hite, President of Marifil Mines Ltd. and by Richard Walters, Vice President under whose directions the exploration program is being carried out. Mr. Walters is a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.
