Has anyone else noticed Flextronics has a medical division, with substantial experience in design and manufacture of equipment related to care and treatment of diabetes? One of the case studies listed on their website includes an insulin pump called OmniPod, manufactured for Insulet Corp. A quick web search indicated they also are a major supplier of glucose meters for Abbott and other pharma companies. Does it seem somewhat coincidental that Flextronics acquired Al Mann’s Stellar Microelectronics in what appears to be a low cash deal? Is it too much of a stretch to see this as part of a bigger deal Mann is setting up with Flextronics, potentially contracting out the manufacture of Afrezza to enable selling off the Danbury facility?
