Message: Argentine anti-government protests build as president calls for unity

An important development in the continuing story of Argentina is today's statements from the new Finance Minister regarding Argentina's commitment to the IMF:

Argentina will honor economic goals agreed with IMF: new minister (msn.com)

There certainly was a question about how Argentina would proceed in this area given the huge public demonstrations in multiple cities of Argentina against Argentina continuing to try and honor its debt with the IMF and in consideration of the leftist roots of the new Economic Minister.

Still on the table, however, is whether or not Argentina will expand Export Taxes as those taxes affect the mining industry in Argentina in general and as they affect LAC's mining locations in Argentina in particular.

The story continues.  There is nothing like taking a risk for a company by having the operations of that company in a country with an unstable political and economic scenario constantly shifting in response to volatile events.  One might argue, in contradistinction, that the political and economic situation in the U.S. as it affects LAC's investment in Thacker Pass might also suffer in some degree from the same sort of vicissitudes.  Hopefully, the outcome for LAC will be positive in both scenarios.  The plot thickens in both locations.
