31% efficiency for solar cells? Fact or Fiction

It might not seem like much of an increase from something like 22% up to almost 31% but actually it is quite a jump. Technology continues to develop more ways to make all forms of alternative energy production better, solar being only one form.
As all forms of energy production outside the fossil fuel arena become better and better then the need for storage becomes more and more for both mobil and stationary applications of that energy production. Certainly there will always be a need for stationary applications utilizing lithium batteries, but in that arena much progress has been made and continues to be made from energy storage methods that don't use lithium in their storage process. It is the arena of mobile applications, transportation, where lithum continues to shine and shine and shine. Now and far into the future.
So, fundamentally factors that increase the need for more storage of energy, particularly as it relates to mobile applications, should have a positive bearing on lithium demand for many years into the rest of this decade and on into the next decade of the 21st century. That is why I still get excited with each new development that makes alternative energy become more and more attractive to the general market place and to consumers.
