I noticed that their battery plant plans indicated the use of lithium sulfide electrolyte. I take this to mean solid state. The one company I am aware of that is pursuing a sulfide based solid state battery is Solid Power which also plans to market the electrolyte to other battery manufacturers. As LAC has branded themselves a specialty chemical producer, not a miner, a partnership with Solid Power might be a good way to diversify their product portfolio and capture some downstream value.
