It's my understanding as well that all of this stuff relates to just the temporary injunction requested to stop the excavation on a half acre of land to investigate cultural relics on behalf of the Fort McDermitt Paiute and Shoshone Tribe. 

But, if you look at LAC's arguments, they address much of the substance of what I understand the main complaint deals with. So a win (or loss) here would inform much of the debate and litigation beyond this case. 

In this way, I go back to my musing of about a month ago, when I suggested that perhaps LAC "manufactured" this little dig in late June to speed up the initial inevitable litigation in the form of a temporary injunction request, so that the process could start and they'd get an early test case for their arguments. If so, perhaps another well played chess move.
