Although the course offered at McDermitt High School Shop is given through Great Basin College, it is just the sort of course that could provide students with the job skills needed at Thacker Pass employment during the construction phase.  LAC must think the course is important since they feature and annoucement about it on the LAC website.  

I think that what may be somewhat of a mistake on the part of LAC is in not blowing their own horn about the sorts of things mentioned on the Thacker Pass Community Connections site as loudly as they should have touted them.  No sense, especially now, in not asking the media covering the Stop Thacker Pass movement if they have taken a few moments to peruse the Thacker Pass Community Connections site as well?

These moves by LAC are not something to hide under a bushel basket while the media dances with the environmental activists to the exclusion of LAC's community outreach efforts to the contrary.
