In the spirit of keeping our ears to the ground with respect to opposition to Thacker Pass, here's an article from Native News Online. Again, although I'm sure they intend to put forth good arguments, they still tend to be largely anecdotal. As we try to measure the NDEP's liklihood of granting the required permits, I liked the following paragraph from the article (I underlined assured).

"While the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) has assured the community that appropriate measures will be taken to mitigate the mine’s effect on the groundwater and air quality, some tribal members believe that any impact on these essential resources is a negative one."
