Thanks Cornergrinder for posting this.

When it comes to discussion about future EV and energy, I understand what Pavel is trying to say and partially agree that all those future EVs will require much more energy to be charged.  But I still believe that overall benefits from EVs will be  good as pollution level will decrease.

I don’t think that we can get buy on solar and wind energy only , specially in Mid-West and North- East with cold winter.

We do need Natural Gas. I use to live in a house which was heated by electric  heat-pump , its extremely difficult to keep house warm and super expensive unlike my present home heated with gas heat.

Anyway , I think in a perfect situation if we  can get away from coal  and most oil but increase NG and nuclear  – that would give enough power to charge all future EVs.  Pollution from burning NG is CO2 somewhat friendly to the trees and beats what comes from coal and oil.

That what world  can do today , maybe 50 years from now new kind of energy will emerge.

Overall humanity imprint on weather is smaller then Solar activity . In a past all catastrophic climate events were brought by cooling Sun, Ice Age, mini-ice age in 17 century , comet strikes and super-volcanos.
