Rancher sues BLM over lithium mine approval | The Sierra Nevada Ally

Thanks to jwhitney7, who first posted this article today on TOB.  So, we have a lot of obstacles still in the roadway prior to "production" for Thacker Pass.  Add this to the water rights approval and to waiting for the DFS and the "Strategic Partner".

Looking at things through a different prism, there never has been anything accomplished or anything built in life without some roadblocks along the way.  I share comments made previously by Cal that even with the Greenies influence in the Biden administration as a possible hitch toward completing any mining project, on the other hand they also want alternative energy development and in regard to electric vehicles of all kinds that means there must be sources of the required minerals to make the batteries required to power those EVs.  In the long term view, years from now, there will be some practical alternatives to lithium based batteries but for the next decade or so those batteries will predominantly be lithium type batteries.

I don't believe Mr. Bartel is going to stop the forward progress of a prospective major domestic U.S. lithium producer, but he may slow it up some.  Time will tell.

Another court case to watch, just as we are continuing to watch the decision earlier of the Nevada Legislature's proposal for increasing the mining cap tax for mining operations of all kinds in the State of Nevada by a proposed Constitutional Amendment that has to be approved by the voters of Nevada at some future time via an election.

Thanks, jwhitney7.     Okiedo
