Thru the history we know that somebody always is trying to stop the Progress. Either farmers complains in 19-th century about railroad  construction , or  Rockefeller's "Standard Oil" fight against electricity , followed by Tesla and Edison's fight for AC versa DC .

 At the end – the beat goes on and progress can not be stopped. As much as there is a “pollution” in mining Lithium – it is a price one has to pay to reduce human activity overall footprint on our planet. 

 Enviros can not have their cake and eat it too (smile).

 Lithium battery charged by solar/wind energy or natural gas is the best solution right now , until something else comes up in the next century.
