Martin, over on TOB, is one of the most elequent and sagacious post contributors there. He posted another great observation today on that forum:
"PLL (Piedmont Lithium) halted trading on their stock over 10 days ago at $11/share. A week earlier it had been trading at roughly $7/share. They announced a deal with Tesla. In the premarket today it is priced at $34.70/share. I mention this because the deal that PLL struck with TSLA is now the model for all deals that lithium miners should strike with car manufacturers. You can read the deal for yourself by going to the PLL website and reading the long form of the deal. What it means, in a nutshell, is that all lithium miners are now in the driver's seat when it comes with dealing with all customers for their products. As a result, expect all lithium miners to benefit enormously. And that, of course is great news for us."
I highlighted Martin's last 3 sentences and I am in complete agreement with his conculsions.
Martin went on, in a follow up post, to focus attention back on LAC's Laboratory in Reno that is working on the processing of lithium clay into lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide. I am adamant about my belief in that it is a way too neglected area for most who post about LAC. We just have not been getting much, if any, information out of that Lab about the progress or lack of progress that they are making. The Reno Lab seems to be running on "Silent Mode". Before we see $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Boom Chuckalucka Boom!... we first need to see: a proven processing development to turn lithium clay into lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide of lithium ion battery quality.
I hope that all contributors on this Agoracom Hub will continue to keep anything related to the LAC Reno Lab on their Radar Screens. The success of the Reno Lab is critical to the success of LAC at Thacker Pass and we can not assume otherwise. Hopefully, with all of us keeping events at the Reno Lab in the forefront of our attention, then someone here will uncover some interesting and useful information about what has and is happening over at that lab. After all, if the processing of the lithium clay is not resolved in such a fashion as to verify the projected economic savings then that puts the whole Nevada Lithium Thacker Pass situation in jeopardy. You can't catch much fish without bait and for Thacker Pass the bait is in the processing of lithium clay. JMO
