Now a lesson in cdn politics. Our Prime Minister had his finance minister introduce a financial updating to handle the fiscal crisis. They were going to claw back parliamentary raises for anyone earning over $155,000. They were removing the $1.95 vote money being paid to political parties for each vote cast to their respective parties. The free lunches were going to be gotten rid of, executive seat aircraft travel etc were also to go. There was no package presented to rescue the auto workers (but there was nothing for the forestry workers or anyone else either). The auto companies are US companies and who is to say if they got the money from Canada that they still would not close their plants.....
Anyway, the Liberals, NDP and Bloc (separatists) are talking of forming a coalition government and defeating the Conservatives. The leader of the Liberal party (Dion whom many wanted out after the election) would be the leader and an NDP person would be the finance officer. Now if Dion steps down then a leadership convention would then determine the next Prime Minister of Canada. The Bloc (a separatist party) would control the swing vote. Now how much more interesting is that?
