Traps, I remember those days and the pond, and the sheds... ;) I also remember that Mother Falconbridge and Mother Inco built whole communities and community centres and schools and parks and arenas for their employees. Those days are long gone...
I also remember that long Inco strike in the late 70's or early 80's when Inco locked the Union out and did not come back to the bargaining table for 8 or 9 months. At that time, inventories were very high and the Ni price was low. And we were in a financial crisis, with 19% interest rate. Deja vu except for the interest rate.... knock on wood....
I just hope that some of the old guys from back in those days are around to remind people how awful it was and how it is a bad idea to strike when the company has no benefit in producing more nickel.
No matter what the situation is though, removing the nickel bonus is not going to be acceptable!!!
