At the end of October, Don Anderson Haulage Ltd. will transport oversized industrial equipment from the Port of Thunder Bay to Timmins, Ontario. The equipment is an industrial mill unit that has been acquired by Lake Shore Gold for their Bell Creek Mill Expansion project.
The mill unit will be moved by a large convoy and will travel on both lanes of Highway 11 between Thunder Bay and Timmins.
Motorists travelling on Highway 11 should prepare for traffic delays and temporary highway closures starting on Monday, October 31st* until Thursday, November 3rd.
*The final start date of the move is subject to change based on the final arrival date of the equipment to the Port of Thunder Bay.
The convoy is expected to create highway delays with westbound traffic having to stop to allow the convoy to pass safely. Eastbound traffic will be required to follow the convoy at reduced speeds. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) will escort the convoy and provide direction to motorists.
