An LRAD system is aboard an Australian guided missile frigate deploying to the Middle East. The deployment of the HMAS Melbourne is part of Australia's defense force contribution to the international coalition against terrorism.

LRAD Receives $700,000 International Coast Guard Order

LRAD Corporation received a $700,000 order for LRAD 300X systems for installation on international coastal patrol boats currently under construction. Shipments under the order are scheduled to begin this quarter and continue as the patrol boats are delivered for deployment over the next 12 months.

LRAD Showcases AHD Systems at Domestic and International Defense Conferences

In August, LRAD attended the 72nd annual MPRA Expo, which included senior leaders who make purchasing decisions for warfighters.

In September, LRAD hosted several outdoor demonstrations and conducted business development sessions at its booth during DSEI, the world's largest fully integrated defense and security exhibition. LRAD 100X and LRAD 500X systems were utilized as the public address system for the London exhibition's waterside demonstrations.

LRAD systems were also showcased at the Maneuver Warfighting Conference held in September at Fort Benning, GA. The conference gathers senior U.S. Army leaders, Allied partners and military experts for presentations and discussions on shaping future force requirements.

Offut AFB Tests LRAD 500X for Runway Bird Control

Offutt's BASH team has utilized almost every traditional mitigation tool. While propane cannons and bird foggers have proven to be of limited effectiveness, shotguns and pyrotechnics have continued to form the core of our mitigation efforts. Last fall in an effort to help address the limited range of previous methods, a Long Range Acoustic Device (LRAD) was added to the BASH program. Essentially a large speaker, the LRAD allows our BASH team to project any sound file at 148dB for up to two kilometers. While still early in testing, the effect on raptors has been impressive. On multiple occasions, Red Tailed Hawks circling at altitudes of 1,000 feet or more have been driven from the airfield.

LRAD Corporation On Track to Report Strong Fiscal 4th Quarter and Finish to Fiscal 2013/Announces $3 Million Share Buyback Program

The Board of Directors has approved a share buyback program under which the Company may repurchase up to $3 million of its outstanding common shares from time to time on the open market and in privately negotiated transactions, depending on market conditions, share price and other factors. The Company intends to fund the buyback program with available cash and from future cash flow from operations.
