LRAD Corporation Announces First Mobile LRAD 360X™ Systems Delivery to State DHSEM

SAN DIEGO, CA, July 31, 2013 - LRAD Corporation (NASDAQ: LRAD), the world’s leading provider of long range acoustic hailing devices (AHDs), today announced its first mobile LRAD 360X systems delivery to a state Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM). LRAD 500X systems were also ordered and delivered.

State DHSEM’s ensure the protection of life and property by providing coordination, guidance, support and assistance to local emergency managers and first responders and serve as the central agency for coordinating efforts to prevent, protect against, mitigate the effects of, respond to, and recover from all incidents, whether man-made or natural.

The LRAD 360X broadcasts attention commanding emergency/warning sirens and highly intelligible, multilingual messages in a 360° pattern over distances up to 2 miles. The LRAD 360X is modular enabling customization of the size of the mass notification broadcast area.

Self-contained, self-powered and operational in extreme weather conditions, mobile and fixed LRAD 360X systems supplant siren-only loudspeaker installations and supplement reverse 911 calls and other emergency warning/mass notification (EWMN) measures to ensure affected populations simultaneously hear and understand warnings and notifications. LRAD 360X systems broadcast information on what to do before, during and after potentially catastrophic events including tornadoes, hurricanes, severe thunderstorms, tsunamis, flooding, wildfires, armed gunman, bomb threats, area or building lockdowns, CBRN incidents and other natural and man-made disasters.
