If I am not mistaken, the San Diego County Sheriff's Office bought some LRAD a while back and it came under criticism....or maybe it was the Escondido City Poolice Dept? I don't remember which? Anyway, the media got ahold of this and made some kind of stink that it was a "weapon" used in crowd control, then the buzz faded away.

We would not want to hurt the ears of gang members now would we?
