Mr. James Anderson reports
COPPER CREEK INITIATES EXPLORATION PROGRAM AT SANTA LUCIA
Copper Creek Gold Corp. has initiated a trenching and sampling program at its Santa Lucia project, in Sonora, Mexico.
The program will consist of mechanical trenching utilizing an excavatorin approximately eight trenches. The trenches will total approximately 500 metres in length.
The purpose of the program is to further define the strike and dip of gold- and silver-bearing quartz veins in the Santa Lucia North area. The trenches will be extended over a strike length of approximately four kilometres, but will be concentrated in the most northerly La Fortuna area, where a number of high-grade gold and silver samples, discovered by prospecting in 2008, have established a new trend of mineralization.
These trenches will help to further define targets for the upcoming drilling program on the project.
Copper Creek is earning a 60-per-cent interest in the Santa Lucia project from Kootenay Gold Inc. by spending $2-million in exploration and making modest cash and share payments over a four-year period. The project is located in the western foothills of the Sierra Madre gold-silver belt, approximately 80 to 120 kilometres from numerous large, producing, epithermal gold-silver mines that include: GoldcorpInc.'s El Sauzal mine, Agnico-Eagle's Pinos Altos mine, Gammon Gold's Ocampo mine, Minefinders' Dolores mine and Coeur d'Alene's Palmarejo mine.
