01:08 PM EST, 01/06/2020 (MT Newswires) -- RBC Capital is initiating coverage on Kirkland Gold with an Outperform rating and US$50 TP on Kirkland Gold. "We anticipate that KL's proposed acquisition of Detour Gold will advance and we view the pro-forma entity as offering an attractive investment relative to the senior producer group."

The brokerage sees the KL-DGC transaction proceeding and terms remaining "at or very near the existing offer" on the back of Kirkland's negotiating position from both a valuation and financial perspective.
