08:03 AM EDT, 04/06/2018 (MT Newswires) -- Kirkland Lake Gold (KL), the Canadian gold mining company, on Friday
reported consolidated Q1 production of 147,644 ounces, up 13% from a year earlier.
For the quarter, Kirkland said its Fosterville mine in Australia produced 63,843 ounces. Among its mines located in Canada, the Macassa mine produced 54,038 ounces, Holt produced 16,675 ounces, while Taylor produced 13,055 ounces, the company said
"We had a solid start to 2018 and finished Q1 with record monthly production in March of 71,615 ounces.," said CEO Tony Makuch.
Makuch said the company was "very much on track to achieve our consolidated production guidance for 2018 of more than 620,000 ounces."
