Creating value through Exploration and Development in the Sierra Madre of Mexico
All: The real battle we are all having is one of belief. Do we believe in bull and bear markets or are all stock movements really just random ,and human beings have created patterns to try and explain the unexplainable. This is the one and only real question. If bull markets are real, then it is obvious that we are in a bull market in gold. And if we are in a gold bull market then junior producers with gold will rise tremendously in the years ahead, and Kimber is definitely one in that category. What I have come to realize lately is that the issues people have with investing in this company really has very little to do with the company’s management, the deposit, the location of the operations or the share structure, because all of these things become less and less relevant the higher gold goes. One percent of one percent of a billion dollars is still a million dollars. If we truly are in a gold bull market, there will be plenty of worth in Kimber to spread around to anyone who is in early enough to be reading this. So why all the upset and concern? The upset and concern is a reflection of the battle within each of us. Do we believe or do we not believe? It is a crisis of faith not unlike the crisis of faith many of us will and do have during our lives concerning our beliefs in God. I illustrate this crisis by a story my father once told me: A man is walking along the edge of a cliff and suddenly loses his footing and slips over the edge to his almost certain death hundreds of feet below. As he goes over, however, he manages to grab onto the root of a tree extending out from the face of the cliff and within a moment finds himself hanging by both arms by the root about twenty feet below the edge he fell from. He looks up to heaven and calls to The Almighty, “God, if you can here me, please come and save me!” That instant, there is a thunderous sound, the clouds shift and the sky changes color. Then the man hears a great booming voice from above. “(Insert Your Name Here)” He says, “This is the Lord. Do you hear me?” “Yes Lord,” says the man, “I hear you!” “(Insert Your Name Here), do you believe in me?” “Yes, Lord,” says the man, “I believe in you!” “(Insert Your Name Here), do you have faith in me?” “Yes, Lord,” says the man, “I have faith in you!” “(Insert Your Name Here), do you trust me?” “Yes, Lord, “ the man says, “I trust you. I trust you!” “Then (Insert Your Name Here),” says the Lord, “Let go of the root.” There is a moment of silence. Next the man says, “Is there anyone else up there I can talk to?” I hope this story made you laugh. As I wrote, my dad told it to me many years ago, and I’ve never forgotten it. I smile every time I retell it. The writer understood human nature very well, I think. Faith is an easy thing to talk about, but a difficult thing to demonstrate in everyday life. Faith in God, faith in others and faith in markets and our own unique understandings of markets and the human motivations that drive them. Faith is not fact based. It is based on individual understanding. It is based on wisdom, on experience on intuition and knowledge. It is a combination of all those things rolled up into a unique and undefinable whole, unique for every person and manifesting in every individual’s life in a unique way. So are we in a gold bull market? Yes, I believe so. Why do I think so? Trying to explain that to someone can be quite problematic, as it should be. My belief is not based on simple hard facts, but on study, reflection, analysis and hopefully, common sense. It is an understanding of the world we live in based on my thoughts, my mind, my intuitions, my belief systems. It is based on what Richard Russell has taught me, what Jim Puplava has taught me, what Eric King has taught me, what my father and mother have taught me, what my friends have taught me, what the Scriptures have taught me. In short, it’s complicated. But ultimately, the crux of the whole thing is simply faith. Faith that I am able, based on the life I’ve lived and the thoughts I have and have had, to see something that most other people cannot see as well. This is what I believe St. Paul talks about when he writes of “fighting the good fight, finishing the race and keeping the faith.” Christ understood this also. The good fight is not against the Romans or the Jews or the Greeks. The good fight is against oneself, the selfish aspects of ones nature that work constantly to disenable one from seeing truly and clearly. Are we in a gold bull market? You decide. But decide. All the best, Bull
