On Gravity and Gold

It would be interesting to read the literature about the "myth" of gravity written by the finer minds of a society that for two generations had in some way lived in a zero gravity environment. Whole bodies of literature would spring up about the foolishness of ancestors who actually believed in such a phenomenon. "How could such a thing have ever been?" some might ask. "Is there any one alive who can demonstrate a formula or who has a scientific theory of explanation as to how this "gravity" was supposed to have worked?" In government meetings, as smug dignitaries would float from suspended table to table, there would be chuckles and sometimes even derisive laughter as a lone senator would make one of his predictable and wacky speeches about the tremendous energy being expended to maintain the anti-gravity environment.

"Eventually, gravity will have to pull things back to earth."

"Have you ever seen this actually happen, Senator?"

"I don't need to, I have the writings of our forefathers to instruct me."

"Myths and legends, you old fool. Imagine, things actually 'falling' to earth. Ha! Ha! Ha!."

Gravity is a fascinating reality. There is no adequate scientific explanation as to why it occurs. Yet it occurs. People don't believe in it because they are scientists. They believe in it because they are practical. They ignore gravity at their own peril.

Remember the old Star Trek episodes where Kirk and Spock and a few doomed guys in red shirts would beam down to a planet at the farthest reaches of the universe and everyone there would speak perfect English. Did you ever wonder what exactly the odds were of that happening? I can imagine that they were probably astronomical. Here's another question. What are the odds that every society on the face of the earth would randomly chose gold and silver as its money? They too are astromonical. Sure, you can read theories about why this has happened. Gold is pure. Gold is easily divisiible. Gold is this. Gold is that. Baloney. These are all like attempts to describe gravity. They all sound good, but none of them really hold up in court, so to speak. None could be used to reproduce gravity for a non-believer in an anti-gravity envornment.

Gold survives as money for a reason that neither you nor I can comprehend. I put it to you, that if gold did not have some intrinsic quality that made it money, this could and would never have happened. Gold as money is like gravity. It's existence no less mysterious, but no less real. Some understand this. Most do not. It is not about science or logic. It is about wisdom and understanding. Get these things! Those who know, know. Those who don't know, do not know. Be one who knows. Bull
