The Truest Test of Character. How Will YOu Do?

According to James Dines, one of the oldest sayings on Wall Street is that the stock market will find your weaknesses and use them to destroy you. But how does one one avoid having weaknesses? This is the most difficult part of all. Follow the precepts of truth. Be good and honorable. Do good work, keep your own hands clean. Keep your language and thoughts clean. It is the only way to keep away from the psychological suffering when it comes. I have talked with many people recently who are suffering extremely through this all, and I have concluded in every case that it their inferior qualities that are weakening and will most likely continue to weaken and, in some cases, perhaps destroy them. Yes, I have bad news, this could get much, much worse before it gets better. Presently, I see no end in sight. Too many forces of unknowing and near insanity have been unleashed. True, they will all eventually burn themselves out, but eventually can seem like a long time, like riding home in the car when you are eight years old knowing you are going to get a spanking from your dad when you get home. That can be a very, very long ride for ten minutes.

There is only one place to be right now. History tells us what is going to happen long, long before it happens, but still, the ride is extremely difficult for many. This is why it pays to be true to your principles, to not cheat the guy at the cash register at McDonald’s or Seven-Eleven when you have the chance, to seek forgiveness for your sins, to to keep your cool in traffic, to be humble, because when times like this come, we all must realize how weak we can be made to feel, how weak we really are and only the least weak will make it through without becoming psychologically impaired upon exiting the period of trial.

So do not focus on things to far away or too fantastic for you to comprehend. Right now, focus on where you are, who you are, Take care of those close to you. Smile. Do something kind for someone today. When you are insulted, smile. And when you are laughed at, laugh at yourself. You have no control over this, but to simply wait and let the wind blow where it will. The sun will continue to shine. It is not changing. I am reminded of a good story, a riddle actually, “Do you know a good way to make God laugh?”... “By telling Him what you are going to do.” You do what is good. The trick isn’t to be right at this point. You are right. The trick is to stay faithful long enough, so that you can realize that. Bull
