"Stocks climbed 400 points on the possibility of a major new action by the government."

This is the Yahoo headline! Can you believe it?

I am reminded of Charles Mackay's recollections in his book, Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds, where he speaks of the speculative madness that swept through England during the time of the infamous South Seas Bubble where participants were enticed into "investing" based on the following advertisement: "A company for carrying on an undertaking of great advantage, but nobody is to know what it is." Mackay goes on to write, "Were not the fact stated by scores of credible witnesses, it would be impossible to believe that any person could have been duped by such a project."

How about this "project"..."A company for creating money without backing and giving it to anyone who asks for it." OR

"A company to bail out any other company who needs bailing out."

Look, you either subscribe to the belief that natural laws function, give equals take and supply corresponds in a mathematical fashion with demand. Nothing is created out of nothing. Labor has rewards and laziness has not the same rewards. In other words there just is no free lunch. OR

You believe that just maybe there is a free lunch out there somewhere for the people who are smart enough. Maybe we are just at that seemingly magical period in time where we can get away with what nobody else has ever been able to get away with. We can control economic cycles through interest rate manipulation. We can create oil with our computers.

Chose today where you stand, and stand there! Go Kimber! Bull
