I remember in 2000 when the the dot come thing was falling apart. I thought for sure we were getting ready for another big depression. Guess what? It didn't happen. Why? We pumped the system full of more powerful drugs. I used to do a lot of work with Parkinson's patients. For those of you who do not know what Parkinson's Disease is, it is a disease of the nervous system that is slowly progressive and for which there is no cure. In short it interferes with people's abilty to use their muscles properly until they die. Remember the diaphagm is a muscle. You use muscles to cough, to control your urine, your balance (so you don't fall down stairs or an escalator at Macy's). How Parkinson's destroys a person is not important, the point is that the mortality or death rate is 100% from the Disease. There is no escaping it. Science has created a variety of medicines to combat the disease, one of which, the most famous, Sinemet was highlighted in the movie Awakenings in 1990 which starred Robin Williams and Robert Deniro. If any of you saw the movie, then you can understand how dramatic the effects of Sinemet or L-Dopa can be on Parkinson's patients. I am a physician, as many of you know, and I can attest to the fact that Sinemet really does this. People can't speak, they can't walk, they can't feed themselves...I give them Sinemet and within a few minutes sometimes, they are up and acting almost normally. It is a very strange and spooky thing to see. It's almost as if they are cured. But guess what? They are not cured. They are still diseased but just using a very powerful "miracle" drug. When the drug wears off, they can't walk again. They can't speak again. Now here's the kicker...The mechanisms in the body that allow Sinemet to work get slowly burned out from using the Sinemet over a period of years. This means you need to keep giving higher and higher doses of the drug to get the same response until one day you give a highest doses you've ever given and NOTHING happens. Nothing. Soon after that the patient dies. Do you understand what I'm getting at. There comes a time when the artificial representation of health can no longer be maintained.

David Galland in an article entitled The Bursting Commodities Bubble on 321gold.com talks about a series of bubbles that are being created, the dot.com bubble, the real estate bubble, and how this is strange because oftentimes a person might see only one legitimate bubble during a business cycle. I think that is because usually one bubble is all an economy can take before everything collapses. But just as medical science has changed over the last 100 years, so has economic science. We have much more powerful drugs these days, many more ways of prolonging a disease process like the fiat dollar system. The cycle will complete itself, however. Cycles always do. Birth to death, gold to paper, night to day. That which hath been is that which shall be; and that which hath been done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Bull
