Group, For those of you worrying about the Mexican Government doing to Kimber what the Ecuadoran Governement is doing to Aurelian, here is an excerpt from an article by Bob Moriarty. I thought it might be useful to some of you."The lack of maintenance was so bad that when we went down to the 300 foot level in a truck, the clutch was so worn out that we almost had to walk back to surface. Bob Archer tells a story about how he saw a pile of beat up iron balls next to the one working ball mill and he asked what they were doing there. He was told that they were too out of shape and worn to be used so the miners used block of granite to replace them. So as they were crushing the ore, they were also diluting it. By the time the mine was closed in August, the miners were being forced to carry 50 kilo sacks of hand-picked ore to the surface. It was a sad tale."
This was Bob Moriarty on a tour with Bob Archer at Great Panther, and it illustrates how bad the mining situation got in Mexico during the past several decades when the government took over after the revolution. I believe the mindset of capitalists in Mexico now is definitely focused on letting people with expertise come in and take over operations, so they can humbly make money rather than proudly go broke. Things go in cycles, all things. The cycle in Mexico is moving from humiliity to arrogance again. But there is still a long way for the humility part of the cycle to go before people in Mexico start believing again that they can do everything better than everyone else and confiscate property and run all the mines into the ground. It's a good place to be right now. Bull
