Message: Electricity Rates

Having heard talk in the past about Ontario's hydro rates as being uncompetitive, and people saying that access to Manitoba or Quebec power would be beneficial, I was surprised to read this article:

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/tolko-industries-end-operations-manitoba-1.3731138

So I just decided to look at rates across the country. Looking at residential rates, I found this:

http://www.ontario-hydro.com/electricity-rates-by-province

And here's some info with respect to industrial usage:

I don't have any shocking conclusions about the info above (pardon the pun). The ultimate solution for chromite processing will be through the use of natural gas.

Incidentally, with all the talk about infrastruture to/from the ROF area, there's been a lot of focus on road, rail, electricity, and to a lesser extent, telecommunications. We really need to remember that a gas feed will also be integral to the eventual success of any projects there.
