A big step in advancing the Ring of Fire.

The federal government is providing over $1 million to upgrade the airport on the Webequie First Nation.

Kenora MP Greg Rickford says it's a needed step in moving the mining project forward, noting this airport is one of the busier airports in the region for Ring of Fire exploration, because it's the closest to extraction sites. (File photo)
