The north south rail line allows both the Nickel and Chromite to come to Sudbury where we already have the infrastructure, mining supply, expertise, and the ability to attract professional engineers to a larger community with a school of mining at laurentian university.

Also we would then have all the ingredients for value added processing such as stainless steel production. (SS requires nickel, chrome etc)

Two of the worlds largest miners, Glencore and Vale, are already located here and could easily be expanded to handle all of the minerals coming south from the ring and other future mines in the vicinity. (Vale produces numerous other products including gold, copper, cobalt, precious metals, platinum, palladium etc)

I appreciate Thunder Bays vision to grow it's business sector but when you already have the worlds largest and most sophisticated and intigrated mining center in Sudbury why would it make sense to go elsewhere?
