As an investor, it is so discouraging to see how Ontario governments are spinning their wheels instead of being leaders and innovators. It seems that political correctness and political ambitions are more important than the economy.
In her recent book "The Entrepreneurial State", Marianna Mazzucato argues that the state, not the private sector, has, in some instances, been the entrpreneurial force behind critical innovation. One of many examples given is that the US Gov't played a critical role in the success of Apple by funding and encouraging risky investments that lead to the internet etc.
If there is some genius strategy brewing within the Ontario Gov't to promote and revitalize mining ( and all aspects of the economy) it is well hidden.
