You do understand that the province of Ontario together with Cliffs Natural Resources are fighting KWG Resources in a court battle over the only economic north south access route to the Ring of Fire that can support the weight of hauling the RoF chromite?
All east west routes to either Attawapiskat or Pickle Lake make heavy rail impossibly expensive due to boreal swamp and bogs.
KWG ruined the Liberals exclusive deal for a private industrial all-season toll road with and maintained by Cliffs. KWG wanted to fund and build a public railway with the ONTC and eventually transfer part ownership over to the NAN FN. However, the Liberals wanted to close the ONTC down and setup a private toll road.
After the public outcry over closing the ONTC, the Liberals were forced to transform the ONTC, which drew public attention to the ludicrous chromite trucking idea, so Ontario took the pages from KWG's proposed bill "Northland Development Corporation Act" and rebranded it as the Ontario Development Corporation.
