Howard Hampton will try break the impasse at the Ring of Fire.

Howard Hampton will follow in the foot steps of Bob Rae. Hampton's the latest to be asked to help bring the Ring of Fire mining development into production.

Hampton served as the provincial member for Kenora-Rainy River for more than 20 years. He also served as the provincial NDP leader.

The mega-project has been eight years in construction.
