Message: Ontario’s government to blame for delays in Ottawa’s $11B infrastructure

- Fed Minister Oliver said:“The Government of Ontario has yet to put forward its submission. We hope to receive it soon.”

Note: The federal government doesn’t have an official deadline for submissions, although Alberta, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Manitoba have put forth their lists of preferred projects.

- Ontario Minister Brad Duguid said: "The Ontario government has been “working diligently” to produce a list of priority projects, though officials have called on the federal government to increase infrastructure funding."

In this case I would pose the following questions... for Ontario:

- Where is the list after many many years (7 years?) working diligently. Besides, it does not appear that the Fed is demanding a complete list. Just send in what is availbale with a note saying that there is more to come, but give a self-imposed deadline for the rest. Four other provinces have submitted their lists. Just send Minister Oliver a text message explaining the nicely...noting that people don't react too well if they get hit over the head with a piece of 2 x 4.

- Why spend the time criticizing the size of the (Fed) pie. Why not making a case for your (large) slice of the pie. Ask for a big one if you are really really hungry/greedy. Bet that the other provinces would not be shy to argue for larger pieces as well. It's the fight at the trough which is never unlimited, hence you would need to fight for your own spot...and if you snooze you lose.

- BTW, would it be more advantageous to get chummy with the Fed (they are the one that has the dough) rather than pick a fight with Ministers of the Crown (Rickford, the one responsible for the RoF, included)?

lol.
